Do You Know Him?
There are over 7 billion people on this planet of which a whopping 2 billion slice of the pie claiming to be Christian (that's one in every three people alive today). But a Christian without Christ is just an 'Ian' (Christ-Ian, get it?!). So who is the 'Christ' in Christian?
Jesus was a human being who walked the earth 2,000 years ago (not even the historians can dispute that). But the Bible says that this man was also the Son of God - that's where people can start to struggle. Jesus' name means 'he saves'. Jesus came to save us from the consequence of all the things we do wrong. Whether it be murder or a little white lie, we've all fallen short of a perfect God's perfect standards. But God sent his Son to die a cruel, humiliating death to take the punishment for all that our sins deserve. Part of becoming a Christian is to stop calling the shots in your life and invite Jesus, the King, to take over. It's a bit like picking Jesus up as a hitch-hiker, but not shoving him in the back seat or even getting him to ride up front with you, but to switch seats and let him take the controls! When this happens, you die to yourself and live a new life of faith. The Bible calls it being 'born again' - not born naturally, but spiritually.
If you are fed up with your life, if you are searching for a new start, if you are ready to put the past behind you and start to lead a new life as a child of God with Jesus as your King, then why not give him a try? You can do it right now at your computer screen. Simply ask God to forgive you of all the wrong you have ever done, believe in your heart that He sent his son Jesus Christ to die for the sins of mankind, later rising from death, and then go and tell someone that Jesus is your King!
When Jesus waked the earth, he spoke harshly to the religious leaders of the day! True Christianity is not about religion, but relationship. When you start a new life in God, you will actually feel God, you will hear from God in your Spirit, He will be very much alive to you. And when asked 'do you know him?' you will without hesitation be able to answer with a resounding 'Yes'!
